About Me

Firstly, I love words. I love reading them, listening to them spoken and read, and (of course) I love writing them.

I have published short stories, mostly recently winning the Historical Novel Society of Australasia’s short story competition. Many of these stories are historical fiction or historical crime fiction, often set in colonial NSW, since this is a particular research interest of mine.

My family, including our black labrador, puts up with me living in colonial Parramatta while I am writing.

My day job is as a copywriter, copyeditor and proofreader.

I also love to read. When I come across books which are particularly compelling or beautifully crafted, I like to review them, both as a way to continue enjoying the book after it’s finished (we all love that when we find a good book, right?) and also a way to share my thoughts to encourage others to read.

If you have any book recommendations for me to read and review, please let me know.
